Description

Tripiti Beach, Heraklion, Crete, Greece, is a quiet beach with fine pebbles and clean dark green water, with tamarisk trees near the shore and protection on the west by Cape Fylakas. The beach is not organized, but there is a small tavern, and it can get quite busy in August. Nearby are ruins of the Minoan settlement of Papouri on a hill in the Kalokambos area, with views to the South Cretan Sea. Two small nearby coves have coarse sand and calm water, one with rocky seabed and nudist-friendly shade, and another at Vyzaroplaka by the Trafoulas Peninsula, rocky and ideal for snorkeling and fishing, well protected from waves.
