Description

Therma beach, Kos, South Aegean, Greece, is at Agios Fokas with a sea-pool of hot springs known as the thermes. Access is via the East beach, passing Psalidi cape and Agios Fokas cape, a steep arm from a 75 m hill; a small Byzantine-period church once stood there, and about 3 km away the thermes are organized as a summer resort. The baths sit at the end of a 250 m pebbled beach in a rock pool, with hot water around 42–50°C; mixed with sea water it forms a warm bath, with the warmest spring from a fissured rock on the right. The pool is sizable and temperature varies, but it is always warmer than the sea; studies report healing properties for skin ailments.
