Port Vlichada is primarily reserved for day boat catamarans that operate tourist excursions around the Caldera. These vessels typically return around 9:00 p.m., with dozens of catamarans arriving simultaneously. The marina operates exclusively for local catamaran operators. Visiting yachts are generally not accommodated, even when the harbourmaster may initially suggest waiting on anchor. Transient boats are often informed late in the evening that no berths are available. Near the port entrance, there are 4 or 5 mooring buoys that may provide an alternative anchoring option for visiting vessels.
