Exceptional protection creates silence. Part of PORTA (fortification) that protected Toroni from PIRATES. Village Character: Ideal destination for those who like NATURE and SOLITUDE. Not many tourist facilities but offers beautiful pedestrian road, traditional taverns with fresh fish and Sithonia specialties, small grocery shops. Beach: 1.5KM beach with FINE SAND and CRYSTAL CLEAR WATER. Sea always CALM but gets DEEP QUICKLY. High rocks behind beach create lake-like ambience. Snorkeling/Diving: Reefs and underwater caves (like Erica) where you can see OLD PIRATE SHIP 35M under surface! Exceptional diving attraction. Can hike Kapros for breathtaking bay view. Services: Market, Restaurant, Water, Anchorage. Tip: Greece's DEEPEST natural harbor mentioned by Thucydides! "Deaf port" - so protected sea sound can't be heard. Very sheltered, 5m depth, but leave first pontoon end for daily fishing boat, watch protruding concrete rebar.
