Description

Osor Town Quay is a town pier in Osor, Opčina Mali Lošinj, Cres, Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, Croatia, located at coordinates 44°41'37'' N, 14°23'28'' E. This historic town sits on the narrow canal connecting the islands of Cres and Lošinj, offering berthing in one of Croatia's most culturally significant and atmospheric locations. Berthing and Facilities: OSOR TOWN QUAY is 60M LONG on the NORTH SIDE BEFORE THE CANAL. GO INTO THE BAR AT THE BRIDGE and ASK FOR THE HARBOR MASTER - informal but practical berthing arrangement. Restaurant available. The town quay provides simple facilities in this historic setting. The canal (artificially widened from a natural channel) connects Cres and Lošinj islands, with a small swing bridge that opens on schedule for vessel passage. Historic Osor: Osor is one of Croatia's most historically important towns, once the capital of both Cres and Lošinj islands. The small town (population under 100) features remarkable architectural treasures including Roman ruins, medieval churches (Cathedral of the Assumption, Church of St. Gaudentius), Renaissance palaces, and ancient town walls. The famous Osor Musical Evenings festival is held here each summer, attracting musicians from around the world to perform in the atmospheric cathedral. The town's strategic position on the canal made it a vital maritime crossroads for millennia. Today, Osor offers a unique combination of profound historical atmosphere, cultural events, and authentic Croatian island life. The simple berthing arrangements (check in at the bridge bar for harbor master) reflect the town's unpretentious character. Website: www.visitlosinj.hr/osor.aspx. VHF channel not specified. This is a must-visit destination for culture and history enthusiasts cruising the northern Adriatic.
