Description

Navagio Beach, or Shipwreck Cove, is the most famous beach of Zakynthos on the island’s western side near Anafotiria village. It was initially called Agios Georgios but took its new name from a shipwreck in 1983, when a boat carrying illegal cigarettes was washed ashore. The ship lies in the middle of a large white sandy beach with turquoise, crystalline waters, surrounded by huge vertical white cliffs. The beach is one of the most photographed sights in Greece. To reach it, take a small boat from Porto Vromi; taxi boats leave every hour and the trip takes about 30 minutes.
