Anchorage

Description

Kedrodasos Beach, Chania, Crete, Greece is a solitary anchorage with crystal clear waters and sandy bottom with good seal, but the bay has many emerged and submerged rocks. Further west is the Elafonisos lagoon full of rocks, with a beautiful beach; you can anchor here and go by boat to Elafonissi Beach, but there are too many rocks near Elafonissi. The beach is 76 km southwest of Chania and 1 km east of Elafonissi lagoon, with juniper trees and sand dunes that are fragile and need respect. Elafonisi is a Natura 2000 protected area with sand dunes, sea daffodils, junipers, and protected wildlife; it has white and pinkish sands and shallow lagoon water under 1 m.
