Description

Yacht Club Watervrienden operates two marina locations in the Haarlem area, offering comprehensive facilities for both permanent members and visiting boaters. The first location, Jachthaven Penningsveer, is situated in the recreation area of Haarlemmerliede, while the second location, Jachthaven Schoteroog, is positioned in front of the Schoterbrug on the Spaarne river. Both marinas welcome overnight guests and provide essential amenities including drinking water, showers, toilets, garbage containers, and free Wi-Fi available upon request. The mooring fee is €1.25 per meter of ship length, with electricity charged at €2.50 per day. For overnight stay inquiries, guests can contact the supervisors at either Jachthaven Penningsveer or Schoteroog. Jachthaven Schoteroog occupies a former farm that has recently been granted municipal monument status, adding historical significance to the location. The marina provides approximately 29 berths in the water and serves as a primary winter storage facility. The Schoteroog site has capacity for approximately 120 ships, which are stored on trestles provided by the association during the winter period. The facility offers opportunities for ship refurbishment during the summer season, with a dedicated finishing shed available for major work. Smaller vessels such as open boats and sloops can be stored under cover in 'De Koeienstal' during winter months. The Schoteroog supervisor resides on-site in the old farmhouse, ensuring continuous oversight of the facility. Adjacent to the farm, members and visitors find toilet facilities, a shower, and the JVW bar, which is operated by volunteers on weekends throughout the winter months. The location near Schoterbrug provides convenient access to Haarlem's city center via bus from Spaarndamseweg, just across the bridge. Several supermarkets are located nearby, and both shopping center Cronje and Marsmanplein are accessible within walking and cycling distance, though requiring a slightly longer journey. This combination of historical charm, practical facilities, and strategic location makes Yacht Club Watervrienden an attractive option for boaters seeking quality marina services in the Haarlem region.
