Description
Golfo della Biodola, Elba, Toscana, Italy, is a well-known gulf visible from the road between Portoferraio and Procchio. The beach sits in a natural amphitheatre formed by the hills of Serone delle Cime, Capannone, and Colle Pecorara, with Mediterranean bush and the backdrop of Monte Perone and Monte Capanne. It is exposed to north-west winds but sheltered from the south. The beach is about 600 metres of fine golden sand, with hotels and a campsite nearby. Shallow turquoise water allows wading far out, making it popular with families. The beach name comes from rush that grew along dunes, and it can be reached from Scaglieri beach. To the left starts the Fitness Track leading to Lamaia and Porticciolo beaches and onward to Procchio.
