Description

Balos Beach, Chania, Crete, Greece is an iconic spot with anchoring in about 6 meters on sand and perfect holding. The beach has a small snack bar, and opposite you can visit Gramvousa Island with the fortress. To avoid waves of tourists who arrive by ferry, avoid daytime; arrive in the morning before boats from Kissamos. The lagoon is between Cape Gramvousa and Cape Tigani with turquoise waters, white and pinkish sand, and very shallow warm water in places, and it is a Natura 2000 protected area.
