Description
Ammoudia is a small coastal town in Preveza, 17 km from Parga, with several hotels and villas and a large, wide sandy beach. The delta of the Acheron River lies along the beach. The beach is sandy with very long shallow water, a refreshment compared to pebble beaches nearby, and is suitable for families with small children. The left side offers natural shade used by campers. The beach is long and wide with space for all visitors. Cafes offer sunbeds and a parasol for 5 euros with two coffees. The sea is clear and clean though not turquoise, and the sand is very fine. The beach can be windy, and sunsets are beautiful. There is parking along the beach. You can rent a kayak and go down the calm, shallow Acheron River, observing aquatic life such as water turtles, beavers and otters. Taverns and cafes line the beach.
