Description

Agios Panteleimon Beach in Istron, Lassithi, Crete, Greece, is the longest beach of the area and is sandy and well organized with umbrellas, showers, and water sports. The beach is named after the church of Saint Panteleimon built on the shore and is considered good for windsurfing. Nearby are the quiet Karavostasi beach with sand and many trees, the ruins of the Minoan settlement Priniatikos Pirgos on a rock, and the wetland of Kalos Potamos. Istron lies between Agios Nikolaos and Ierapetra in a lush valley with olive groves and springs.
