Description

WSV Lisse Marina in Lisse, Netherlands, offers 170 berths for visiting boats and permanent members. The marina is located along the Ringvaart waterway, providing convenient access for pleasure craft and commercial shipping vessels. Guest berths are clearly marked with orange signs displaying the text PASSANTEN, allowing visiting boaters to moor without prior consultation with the harbor master. When selecting a berth on the outside quays, boaters must stay within the marked lines and maintain a clearance of 75 cm at both the front and rear of their vessel. This spacing ensures that boats with fixed berths can leave and moor without obstruction. The marina features both outside berths along the Ringvaart and inner harbour berths. Outside berths offer the advantage of watching passing pleasure craft, though they experience strong suction from loaded sand and gravel ships that regularly supply transhipment companies during working days. For this reason, smaller vessels are advised to choose the more sheltered berths in the inner harbour, particularly on weekdays when commercial traffic is heaviest. The inner harbour is divided into two sections by a bridge located at the narrowest point. The south side of the inner harbour connects to the Ringvaart, while the north side provides access from the Greveling waterway. A centrally located Sanitary Unit serves all marina users with toilet and shower facilities. Boaters can also dispose of chemical toilet waste at this facility. All berths throughout the marina are equipped with electricity connections, ensuring power supply for visiting and permanent boats. Water taps are distributed at multiple locations throughout the port area. Boaters without their own water hoses can use water carts with hoses, with two carts available at the Sanitary Unit. Due to limited availability, users are requested to return the carts promptly after use. The marina's location provides convenient access to local amenities. A small shopping center is within a 10-minute walk from the harbor, featuring a butcher, bakery, liquor store, supermarkets, snack bar, and Chinese restaurant. The Redershuis, the marina's clubhouse, opens on Saturday afternoons from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Visitors and members can enjoy drinks and conversation in a social atmosphere. When weather permits, the terrace is also open for use. Volunteers from the WSV Lisse association staff the bar during these Saturday afternoon sessions. The marina's position along the Ringvaart means that both recreational and commercial vessels regularly pass by the outside berths. During weekdays, commercial shipping traffic increases significantly as sand and gravel ships transport materials to nearby transhipment facilities. These loaded commercial vessels create substantial suction effects along the outside berths, which can be challenging for smaller boats. The inner harbour provides a more protected environment, making it the preferred choice for smaller vessels seeking calmer mooring conditions. The bridge spanning the inner harbour at its narrowest section creates two distinct mooring areas, each accessible from different waterways. This layout allows for efficient traffic flow and provides options for boaters entering from either the Ringvaart or Greveling directions. WSV Lisse Marina combines practical facilities with a welcoming community atmosphere, making it suitable for both short-term visitors and long-term members navigating the Dutch waterways.
