Description

WSV de Hollandsche IJssel marina is located in Krimpen aan den IJssel, offering sheltered berthing facilities directly on the Nieuwe Maas. The marina provides bridge-free and lock-free access from the Nieuwe Maas for yachts with a maximum draft of 2.00 metres, making it easily accessible for various vessel sizes. The water sports club operates 53 berths and 31 shore berths, serving approximately 135 members and donors. Visitor berths are available for passing yachts, with the marina strategically positioned at a turning point on the standing mast route. The location serves as an excellent overnight stop on the Amsterdam-Gouda-Dordrecht-Zeeland route. The marina sits adjacent to a nature reserve, with one of the Netherlands' few tidal forests located across the harbor, offering walking opportunities for visitors. Mooring facilities include a designated visitor jetty on the left side upon entry in the slipway basin, accommodating one boat up to 15 metres maximum length. A submerged ramp on the harbor side of this jetty is clearly marked with a yellow and black pole and floating ball. Free berths throughout the harbor are identified by green signs on the jetties. The head jetty provides space for boats larger than 11 meters. Water supply is provided free of charge for drinking water purposes only. Electrical power operates on a coin system, requiring 1 euro coins to deliver approximately 2000W of power. The club building is located on the left side of the large jetty and houses toilet facilities and a shower. The shower operates via a euro machine at a cost of €0.50 per use. A complimentary waste water extraction system is available on the visitors' jetty, strictly for waste water only and not for bilge water disposal. The harbor master holds the operating key for this system. The harbor commissioner makes evening rounds to collect visitor fees and is available to answer questions from visiting boaters. The marina's position on the Nieuwe Maas provides excellent connectivity for cruising routes throughout the region, with direct access to major waterways without navigational obstacles. The combination of permanent and visitor berthing makes the facility suitable for both long-term members and transient sailors exploring Dutch waterways. The natural surroundings and proximity to the tidal forest create a unique environment for marina users, blending water sports facilities with nature access. All essential amenities including water, electricity, sanitation facilities, and waste disposal are available on-site, ensuring comfortable stays for visiting vessels.
