Description

Velopoula offers a super anchorage on a sandy bottom at about 10 m with translucent water, and fishermen may anchor at night. It is an uninhabited island in the Aegean Sea off the southeast Peloponnese, about 3 km long and 800 m wide, with a maximum elevation of 227 m. There is the chapel of Saints on the east coast and a lighthouse built in 1884 with a 10 m tower. The island belongs to the Municipality of Spetses and lies next to Spetsopoula, with access by boat from Spetses.
