Description

Town Quay Korčula is a town pier in Korčula, Opčina Korčula, Korčula, Dubrovnik-Neretva County, Croatia, located at coordinates 42°57'41'' N, 17°8'5'' E. This prime town quay berthing in the heart of magnificent medieval Korčula offers direct access to one of Croatia's most beautiful historic centers, serving also as the official port of entry with customs and immigration facilities. Berthing and Facilities: There is an AREA ON THE SOUTHERN END OF THE PIER for VISITING YACHTS. NO LAZY LINE - you have to ANCHOR AND STERN TIE - Mediterranean mooring style. CAUTION: PASSING TRAFFIC CREATES A SWELL here so TIE WELL OFF - ferry and excursion boat wake is significant. NOT SUITABLE FOR ANY WINDS FROM THE WEST - exposed to westerly weather. VHF channel 9. ATM, market, restaurants, and water available. Email: zlu.korcula@hi.t-com.hr. Phone: +385 207 152 41. Website: www.portkorcula.eu/. Port of Entry Facilities: Here is the POLICE OFFICE, CUSTOMS OFFICE and HARBOUR MASTER OFFICE to CHECK IN if you ARRIVE FROM ITALY or AN OTHER COUNTRY - official international entry point. This makes the town quay particularly important for yachts crossing from Italy or arriving from non-Schengen countries, providing one-stop check-in convenience in the heart of town. Korčula Historic Town: The quay puts you steps from one of the Adriatic's most spectacular medieval walled towns - birthplace of Marco Polo (allegedly), with magnificent Venetian Gothic architecture, narrow stone streets, St. Mark's Cathedral, and vibrant cultural life. The swell from passing ferries can be uncomfortable but is manageable with good fenders and proper stern lines. Avoid in westerly winds. The combination of prime historic location and port-of-entry status makes this a key destination despite swell challenges.
