Description
Starigrad-Paklenica is a town pier in Starigrad, Croatia, located at coordinates 44.29491700°N, 15.43764700°E. Located on the south part of Velebitski channel, this port offers limited wind protection - only sheltered from east winds.
Weather Conditions and Mooring: Protected only from east winds. Bura (NE wind) causes high tide. SE and W winds cause high waves. Concrete pier allows sideways docking in calm conditions. Water depths: 3-5m. Electricity and water available. WARNING: If strong winds forecasted, do NOT dock sideways - anchor in front of port instead. Nearby services: ATM, electricity, market, restaurant, water.
Tip: This port requires careful weather planning. Only use sideways mooring in calm conditions - Bura, SE, and W winds create dangerous situations. Monitor forecasts closely and be prepared to anchor offshore if strong winds approach. The 3-5m depth provides good anchoring alternative when conditions deteriorate.
