Description
Stagno di Notteri is a pond on the narrowest part of the Capo Carbonara peninsula near Villasimius, a few minutes from the town and tourist port. It is separated from the sea by a narrow strip of sand, the Spiaggia del Giunco, and is surrounded by Mediterranean scrub. Seen from the high cliff, it appears as two blue fields separated by the white beach. The pond is only half a metre deep and has no emissaries or sea connections, favoring the presence of pink flamingos, also seen in Colostrai and Feraxi ponds.
