Description
Spiaggia di Chia lies in a pristine bay of the Costa del Sud in the province of Cagliari. The sand has peach-like colors, with dunes covered by juniper trees and turquoise waves. The beach is about 750 meters long and up to 90 meters wide, and lies 500 meters northeast of Su Giudeu. Behind it is a lagoon that is an important flamingo breeding ground, and the Torre di Chia on a promontory offers views, about a 400 meter walk from the car park. In July and August the beaches can be crowded, while June and September are quieter. It is also a top kitesurfing beach and hosts the Chia Classic windsurfing, kitesurfing, and surfing event between April and June.
