Description

ACI Marina Rovinj is located on the southeastern side of the city port, offering views of the old city centre, the Church of St. Euphemia, and the island of St. Catherine. The marina has been part of Rovinj's landscape for 34 years. In 2019, a comprehensive reconstruction of the sea and land part of the marina was completed, creating a modern marina with the latest technological solutions and services meeting the highest standards in global nautical tourism. NAVIGATION APPROACH: From the sea, Rovinj can be recognized by the bell tower of the church of St. Euphemia standing on the hill in the middle of the peninsula, and St. Catherine Island beneath the town. Cape St. Euphemia is marked by a lighthouse (Fl 4s 19m 7M) which can be used as a waypoint (45°05.0'N 13°38.0'E). The marina can be approached between St. Catherine Island and the town harbor breakwater. At the head of the breakwater is a lighthouse (Fl R 3s 7m 3M). Between the lighthouse and St. Catherine Island there is a shoal marked by a yellow-black conical buoy that must be rounded from north. When approaching from the south, hold to the marina breakwater which at its end is marked by a green lighthouse (Fl G 5s 7m 5M). Rovinj was declared a monument of culture in 1963. Known as the city of love and romance, it attracts artists who especially love it in summer when its streets turn into open art galleries. The city features renaissance-baroque palaces and is reflected in batanas, typical flat bottom vessels recognized and protected by UNESCO.
