Anchorage
Description
Preveli Beach, Rethymnon, Crete, Greece is a wonderful stop in front of the beach, anchoring on 5 m sand. A palm grove lies by the river that flows into the sea, with several hiking trails to explore. The beach is at the exit of Kourtaliotikos Gorge where the Megalos Potamos forms a small lake before the sea. The area is protected, with a sandy beach of pebbles and sand, cool sea water from the river, and a palm grove that recovered after the 2010 fire.
