Description

Porto di Tavolara is near the island of Tavolara, a limestone and granite mountain rising 560 metres high and four kilometres long, with rugged rocks. The island is part of the territory of Olbia, and boats depart from Porto San Paolo on the mainland. Tavolara is famous as the smallest kingdom in the world, linked to King Charles Albert of Savoy, who named Paolo Bertoleoni king according to legend. His descendants remain the only residents and guardians on the island.
