Port Sami is a marina in Sami, Kefalonia, Ionian Islands, Greece. Marina Sami is a very small marina on the Greek island of Kefalonia with basic facilities which include a crane and sanitary amenities. Shops, bars and restaurants are located in the village of Sami where the marina is situated. Sami is a beautiful coastal town located 25.8 km east of Argostoli, the capital of Kefalonia. The village has a population of 1000 inhabitants, most of whom are engaged in agriculture and fishing. Sami is the second largest port of Kefalonia after Argostoli and serves daily trips to Patra, Ithaca and Italy. The modern village is built close to ancient Sami, one of the most important archeological discoveries of Kefalonia. The harbour area is divided into the main harbour and the western harbour, separated by the ferry terminal. Yachts moor Mediterranean style in the main harbour at water depth of up to 5.5m. Boats can moor alongside behind the ferry mole (north quay) at depth of 4-5m. Most yachts go stern to the western mole at depths of 2-3.5m. The quay supplies bollards and mooring rings with good protection. Only strong westerly and northwesterly winds create heavy swell. The south quay offers few yachts a sheltered berth at depth of 3.5-5m. A variety of taverns and shopping amenities can be found in the town.
