Description

Port Fanari is located in the small seaside village of Fanari, the most famous resort of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace region. The entrance channel depths vary between 1.8 m and 2.5 m, which is important information for visiting vessels. Despite being the region's most popular destination, Fanari maintains its authentic character as tourism is still developing and the area remains uncrowded. The village offers several small beaches within its boundaries and one extensive Blue Flag awarded beach outside the village. The Blue Flag beach features beach bars, showers, changing cabins and water sport facilities for visitors. The port area serves as the social center of Fanari, with taverns and cafes concentrated along the waterfront. Accommodation options include small hotels, rooms to rent and one campsite, providing various choices for sailors and tourists. The surrounding area features protected lakes where pink flamingos and other bird species can be observed, making it attractive for nature enthusiasts. The Monastery of Agios Nikolaos is located 10 km from Fanari and belongs to the Xanthi region, offering a cultural excursion opportunity for those moored at the port.
