Description

Port Agios Georgios is a town pier in Agios Georgios, Eubója island, Thessaly and Central Greece, Greece, located at coordinates 38.838078°N, 22.885639°E. Working fishing port with challenging mooring conditions and significant noise considerations. Quay Conditions: Quay is FULL of fishing boats. East town quay is MUCH DEEPER than chart - possible TWO METERS depth making it viable mooring location. However, has SMALL LOCAL BOATS RANDOMLY PLACED with LAZY LINES EVERYWHERE creating navigation obstacles. Anchor Field: Anchor field has LOT OF LOCAL BOATS reducing viable mooring area to DEEP AREA only. Bottom is SOFT MUD which provides good holding but may drag anchor in strong conditions requiring careful setting. NOISE WARNING: VERY NOISY as fishing boats return from TWO IN THE MORNING! Sleep disturbance guaranteed - active fishing fleet operates on early morning schedule causing continuous engine noise and activity from 2 AM onward. Unsuitable for those requiring quiet nights. Services: Market, Restaurant, Anchorage available. Basic shoreside facilities despite challenging mooring and noise issues. Tip: Working fishing port NOT recommended for peaceful overnight stop - fishing boats returning from 2 AM create constant noise. Soft mud bottom and local boat congestion add to challenges. Consider as emergency stop only.
