Description
Karathonas Beach near Nafplio, Peloponnese, Greece, lies about 2 km south of the city center. The beach is about 4 km long with bars and taverns and is a popular bathing destination. Cars and buses run from the city, and a ferry from Nafplio port also reaches the beach. The cliffs above are popular with climbers who can hire equipment locally, and the Palamidi fortress above is worth a visit. Water sports are available, and coffee bars and restaurants are open from early morning to late night. The area has measures to avoid pollution.
