Grama Bay (Dukat) Vlorë - Albania Anchorage in Dukat, Vlorë

Grama Bay on the Karaburun Peninsula, also known as Grammatas Bay, lies on the western slope near Orikum. It is not easy to reach, making it a destination for those willing to travel by boat from Dhermi or hike more than five hours. The bay served as a haven for ships in distress along this dangerous coast in difficult weather. It was also an area of local stone exploitation, with quarry traces still visible on both slopes. The name Grama is associated with engraved inscriptions; in antiquity there were more than 1,500 inscriptions, with Greek ones from the last centuries BC, followed by Latin inscriptions of the imperial period, and later medieval Greek inscriptions often referring to Jesus Christ.
