Description

Dia Beach, Heraklion, Dia, Greece, is a very good anchorage on an almost deserted island, but avoid the pontoon by the church where depths quickly rise to 1.5–1 m. Prefer the center of the bay and use the tender to go ashore. Dia is a small uninhabited island 12 miles north of Heraklion, with the port of Agios Georgios and a well-protected cove with piers for tourist boats. The bay has a small sandy beach, turquoise water, and is sheltered from north winds. Nearby are small sandy beaches and the chapel of Analipsis, with ruins of an older chapel and the shelter of Dia.
