Description
Cala Rossa on Favignana, Trapani, Italy, is a bay that made the island a popular destination. Favignana is the largest of the Egadi Islands and is called la Farfalla for its shape. The name Cala Rossa comes from a battle where many Phoenicians died, hence “Red Cove.” The beach has no easy access and rocks create a suggestive coastline. The island offers swimming and scuba-diving opportunities near Grotta dei Sospiri, Grotta Azzurra, and Grotta degli Innamorati.
