The fortress of Antirrio stands beneath the modern Rio-Antirrio Bridge at the north side of the strait, next to the former ferry harbor. Built in 1499 by Sultan Bayazid II to protect the sea passage k......

The monastery complex consists of several buildings arranged around a central courtyard. The main church dates from the Byzantine period and features remarkable frescoes and iconography.

Visitors can explore the museum which houses ancient manuscripts and religious artifacts. The library contains over thousand rare books and documents.
