Alkionides - Peloponnese - Zoodochos Pigi - Greece Anchorage in Peloponnese, Western Greece and the Ionian

Alkionides, also called Kalanisa, is a complex of four islands in the northeastern Corinthian Gulf, Peloponnese, Greece. The islands are Zoodochos Pigi, Daskaleio, Glaronisi, and Prasonisi, and are mountain peaks of a single reef lying 190 meters below the surface. They surfaced due to prehistoric earthquakes. The islands are of immense natural beauty with few modern constructions and are deserted. In Greek mythology, Alkionides were daughters of the giant Alkyon. There is excellent anchorage in good weather.
