Description

ACI Marina Split, together with harbors of two sailing clubs, is protected by solid rock breakwater from southerly winds and rough seas, offering views of Split and Diocletian's Palace. The marina marks the beginning of Split Lungomare - one of the most beautiful and longest promenades in the Adriatic. ACI Marina Split received the Tourist Flower - Quality for Croatia award for third place in 2016 and second place in 2017 in the category of best medium marina on the Adriatic. The marina is also winner of the prestigious Blue Flag Award. Approach: Split is a large ferry port requiring extra caution when approaching. Ships leaving the port have right of way in maneuvering. Anchoring is forbidden in any part of the port except in emergencies. The port is entered through wide passage marked by lights and day-time markings. Landmarks for approach include: prominent bell tower of Cathedral of St. Domnius, Cape Sustipan, and stone monument to seafarers shaped as lighthouse - a lighted stone obelisk (Fl(2) W 20s 54m 10M). On port side at Cape Sustipan there is red tower with red light (Fl R 6s 9m 5M). On starboard side of entrance, on head of main breakwater, there is prominent green lighthouse (Fl G 6s 11m 10M) equipped with fog signal and 30-second horn. When approaching the marina, white rocks are visible on wooded peninsula of Sustipan, as well as inside breakwater at eastern entrance marked by red tower with column, gallery and light (Fl R 2s 6m 3M). Reception building, restaurants and workshops in marina are also visible. When approaching the marina and small ports west of it, steer closer to head of inside breakwater. Berthing at newly-built western waterfront is forbidden as area has not been surveyed hydrographically, except when approaching fuel station.
