Croatia, with its diverse coastline, stunning beaches, crystal-clear waters, unique gastronomy, and impressive history, hardly needs an introduction. In Slovakia, we affectionately call it the "Slovak sea."

If you decide to explore this wonderful country not just at resorts but on the sea by yacht, you can be sure you'll experience unforgettable moments. Who wouldn't want to swim and sunbathe on a breathtaking beach with crystal-clear water where you'll be completely alone? Don't hesitate and take your family and friends on this adventure!

Why September? Affordable Yachting

For many people, yachting seems like a luxury reserved for the wealthy, but the opposite is true - anyone can afford it. How can you make it as affordable as possible? Try sailing in September!

Most of us take our vacation during the summer months of July and August. Days and nights are hot, and everywhere around us is crowded with tourists. While this period certainly has its charm, have you ever thought about swapping summer for spring or autumn? If this thought has crossed your mind, lean toward autumn.

Financial Benefits of September

In September, you can charter your yacht at a much better price than during the high season. Discounts can reach an incredible 40-60% off summer prices! Since charter fees represent the biggest expense, this can make your sailing trip significantly more affordable.

Don't forget that prices in bars and restaurants will also be much lower than during the main season. Overall, you can save a really substantial amount of money.

The Magic of Autumn Sailing in Croatia

Autumn yacht cruises are ideal for several reasons. One of the main reasons to prefer autumn over spring is the temperature of both the air and water.

Perfect Temperature

While in spring you wouldn't last long in the water (unless you're used to cold water swimming 😊), in September it won't be a problem. The September temperature is also ideal regarding sunlight intensity. The afternoon sun won't be as exhausting and creates a pleasant atmosphere.

⛵ September Weather: In Croatia, the weather during September is relatively stable - plenty of sunshine, pleasant water temperature, and ideal winds for sailing.

Fewer Tourists = More Enjoyment

In September, you won't have problems with:

  • Overcrowded beaches
  • Packed historic city centers
  • Finding a free table in restaurants
  • Lack of marina berths

Another great advantage is plenty of available berths in marinas at any time of day or night. You shouldn't encounter situations where you can't anchor or find a spot in a port. Evening strolls in towns won't feel like a mass tourism attraction, and you'll be able to enjoy a pleasant atmosphere in peace and comfort.

How Much Will It Cost?

Whether you choose a sailboat or a catamaran depends only on your preferences and experience. The price difference is significant not only for the charter itself but also for sailing costs, mooring fees, and final refueling.

Price Comparison (September, 8 people, one week)

Sailboat (58 feet):

  • Price per person: approximately €390
  • Total price: €3,120
  • Plus: food, fuel, port fees

Catamaran (50 feet):

  • Price per person: approximately €690
  • Total price: €5,520
  • Plus: food, fuel, port fees

💡 Tip: If you choose a boat from a lower price category, you'll save even more.

Additional Costs

Of course, fees don't end there. You must also account for expenses such as:

  • Food for the entire crew
  • Fuel
  • Port fees

While these don't represent the main costs, you need to budget for them in advance. However, if you don't have extravagant demands, the total cost per person shouldn't exceed €500 for the week.

Practical Tips for September Sailing

  • Booking: Even in September, it's better to book your boat in advance (ideally 2-3 months ahead)
  • Clothing: Bring a warmer jacket for evenings and morning sails
  • Provisions: Some restaurants in remote locations might be closed for the season
  • Weather: Monitor forecasts - late September can occasionally be unstable
  • Marinas: Most marinas operate normally until the end of September/early October

Our Experience

Yachting is an unforgettable experience in any season, and those who've experienced it keep coming back to relive that feeling of freedom. For us, autumn cruises are particularly delightful, and we always look forward to them.

As for Croatia - many people consider it an inferior destination, but despite visiting it for over 20 years, we never tire of it. We always discover new magical places, and the Croatian mentality makes us feel right at home.
