The municipality of Bodø is located just north of the Arctic Circle and the town of Bodø is the largest urban area and town in Nordland county, and the second-largest town in North Norway. The 1,395-square-kilometre (539 sq mi) municipality is the 66th largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway. Bodø is the 19th most populous municipality in Norway with a population of 52,357. The municipality's population density is 39.9 inhabitants per square kilometre (103/sq mi) and its population has increased by 10.7% over the previous 10-year period.

Bodø was named one of the European Capital of Culture for 2024. It is also home to football club Bodø-Glimt, the northernmost club to win a European league competition.

Port of Bodø
The Port of Bodø is proud to be able to offer visiting pleasure craft around 100 of the city’s best and most centrally located berths. These are spread among four floating jetties and most of these berths have access to freshwater, shore power and Wi-Fi.

The guest marina is in the heart of the city, close to of hotels, restaurants, supermarkets, the wine monopoly and the airport.

During the summer months, the Port of Bodø has a port host available to help our guests. The Post Host is based in the service building in Molostua. During the summer season, the Harbor Host can be reached by telephone +47 958 57 282.
