Description

Kounoupes beach east, South Aegean, Greece, is part of the “exotic zone” of Astypalaia with Koutsomitis. The waters and environment differ from the rest of the island. Access to Kounoupes is only by boat, either private from Livadia or by tour boat from Pera Yalos and Maltezana. The island has a “double” beach formed by a narrow strip of pebbles and sand, with crystal clear water and a shallow-pool impression. Tourist boats depart each morning from Pera Yalos and visit Kounoupes and Koutsomitis when weather allows.
